Police & Public Safety

The Police and Public Safety Committee meets at 7:00 p.m. the Wednesday before the Council Meeting.  The Committee is composed of three members of Council; the Council President is an ex-officio member of the Committee.  The Committee reviews statistical reports and information provided by the Police Chief related to the daily activities of the Eastern Berks Regional Police Department, considers matters relating to public safety, approves the closure of streets for community events, and reviews requests for handicap parking signs, The Committee makes recommendations to Council on these matters.  The Committee meetings are held in the Council Room of Borough Hall.  The meetings are open to the public.
